About
How It's Done
A self taught knife maker, I design all my blades on paper, then cardboard, before cutting them out of steel. Blades start with flat bar-stock of either stainless steel (440C or AEB-L) or tool steel (O1). I shape and sharpen knives using a belt grinder, buffing wheel, and whetstones. Blades are tempered and heat treated by a professional tempering service for maximum strength and sharpness. I finish by attaching a hand-cut wooden handle.
